Electrical Engineering Requirements in China.png

Electrical engineering is a study dealing mainly with electromagnetism, electronics and the application of electricity. These are only the main fields as there are many sub-fields such as power engineering, telecommunications, signal processing, digital computers and electronics. Electrical engineers may work in many different fields after completing a degree and acquiring the correct skills.

An electrical engineering course is a 4 year course in China and is taught in English. Students require the following:

Having English as an official language

Having studied courses in English in high school or previous institutes

An English level which is admitted by ZJUT

Main courses in the course include Chinese language, Signal and system, Embedded system, Radio frequency circuit design, System on a chip and and 6 other subjects. There are also internship programs for international students at places such as Eastcom- Hangzhou and SUPCON, also in Hangzhou.

Documents required for application of electrical engineering in most Chinese colleges:

Application form-this can be completed online on the chosen universities official website.

An English proficiency test certificate-this only applies to the applicant whose first language is not English, therefore, a TOEFL 6.0 or IELTS 5.5

Senior High School Graduate Certificate-a certificate which is not in Chinese should preferably be translated into Chinese and certified by notarization. This is however only preferable.

A physical health examination certificate-not older than 6 months. Upon arrival in China, the student may be required to complete another health examination by a Chinese medical practitioner.

Photocopy of valid passport-may also be submitted online

1 recent passport size photo in white background with a color photo (35mmx45mm) -1 photo is required yet it is simply a tip to keep a minimum of 8 as the student might need to provide a photo again.

Certificate of HSK- this is a Chinese proficiency test and is not needed for an English medium program.

NB: There is generally a non refundable application fee as well as service fee. The amount is dependent on the chosen university and may be found on their website.

Apart from documents and academic achievement certain qualities are required in the individual who wishes to succeed in this job. China is a country of commitment and discipline therefore these qualities are compulsory. Electrical engineering requires commitment and the inquisitive nature to imagine and discover dynamics. Electrical engineering is a course which will definitely prove worthwhile.

An undergraduate degree in an international business and trade program consists mainly of financial theory, exploration of markets globally and most importantly international business communications. The programs aim is to teach students the skill they require to operate in a business economy.

All these programs require an individual to have fluency in a language apart from English. Furthermore, in order to gain admission some institutes might require previous work experience, this is however not very common when applying for a masters programme. An international student exchange opportunity is offered in masters and bachelors programs in this course. Bachelor level students have the options to specialize in specializations such as global politics, this is not compulsory but rather dependent on the individuals choice.
